Our 5 favorite gourmet getaways to enjoy with the family this summer 🫰🏻

Nos 5 escapades gourmandes préfs à faire en famille cet été 🫰🏻

You know our passion for good food. Well, the kids didn't fall far from the tree. The whole gang loves to eat, even if the youngest often thinks he's pickier than he really is.

We're lucky enough to live in an area filled with inspiring Quebec businesses, run by people who are passionate about hospitality and making incredible food. This summer, we toured our favorite local spots, tried and approved by everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.

    1. La Cabane d'à côté — picnic in the orchard

Our darlings. Whether with adults or children, it's our favorite go-to. A gourmet picnic full of vegetables, with grilling options, incredible wine and cider, it's truly a little paradise! The kids disappear into the orchard while we eat, in an atmosphere that really helps you unwind. We settle in for an hour and leave three hours later. Every time.

3595, Montée Robillard, Mirabel (Saint-Benoît sector)

    2. Brasserie Wilsy — our summer Friday evenings

We should keep it a secret, but we can't. Pizza, smoker BBQ, vegetables from Ferme l'Enracinée, the best vegetables in the Lower Laurentians, we really think so, and a really good "Garden Gnome" for the parents while the kiddos play around the impossibly vast ranch. The view of the lake is breathtaking. The perfect parent-child fit.

    3. Intermiel — Impossible to leave empty-handed

We go for the kiddos and find our delight in the delicious products. Everything is made with honey, the visit is truly captivating, the mini-farm always impresses, and the flavored honey straws have become a must-have for our outings. We always leave with a full bag. It's automatic now.

10291, rang de la Fresnière, Mirabel (Saint-Benoît sector)

    4. The Bagel Sainte-Rose + Bar laitier Berlingot combo

Our classic on the fly. A dozen bagels, several cream cheeses, and we go eat it casually by the water. Then, off to Le Berlingot for the current special. Our only advice: arrive around 12 p.m. to avoid the line.

    Bagel Sainte-Rose — 196, boulevard Sainte-Rose, Laval
    Le Berlingot — 218, boulevard Sainte-Rose, Laval

    5. Dic Ann's Saint-Eustache — our snack bar

We're huge fans. It's OUR snack bar, where everyone knows their order by heart even before getting to the cash register. The only place where cream soda is allowed for everyone.

    180, 25e Avenue, Saint-Eustache

    Happy summer everyone!
