How to Plan THE Perfect End-of-Year Pajama Party (Without Getting Exhausted)

Comment organiser LE pyjama party de fin d'année parfait (sans s'épuiser)

School ends on Friday and day camps start on Monday…! PHEW. In between, there’s a perfect weekend for everyone to take a breather! Because yes, we survived homework, science projects, difficult Monday mornings, and late-night emails from teachers about special snacks. That’s worth celebrating!

A pajama party is the way to go; it’ll make them happy, so we’re suggesting a formula that won’t exhaust you for the next two weeks!

    1. Create the atmosphere: the detail that changes everything

Before you even think about what they'll eat, bring out the inflatable mattresses or blankets in the living room. Let them set them up themselves; they'll rearrange the whole room and feel like the evening belongs to them. Add a string of lights, dim the overhead lights, and play music when they arrive. In ten minutes, the living room no longer looks like the everyday living room, and that's where the magic begins.

A little kit for each kiddo too – a washcloth, a headband, a small snack – it's simple and they'll find it so cute!

    2. The buffet: simple, simple, simple.

A pre-prepared buffet is the secret to not running around all evening.

When you get home from work: The snack platter, appetizer style. A board with cubed cheese, pepperoni, salami, grapes, Boursin, crackers, baguette, chips. The kiddos feel grown-up and everyone eats what they want.

A little later during the movie: The surprise bowl, the perfect mix of sweet and savory! Small individual bowls of popcorn with a few jelly beans and small chocolates. Here, it's a weekend tradition that always leaves its mark!

    3. Skincare time: the pajama party activity they'll love

Set up the kids' favorite masks on the bathroom counter, put on the playlist, and let them do their thing. They'll spend twenty minutes applying the masks, laughing with their colorful faces, and answering "duck, duck, goose" questions. These are the kinds of moments you remember for a long time.

Then the movie! A movie they chose themselves; let them debate, that’s an activity in itself (LOL). Music they control. Unstructured time together to laugh, chat, and create memories.

    4. The morning after the pajama party

Pancakes & smoothie if we slept. Costco croissants & Oasis juice if we didn't. A jar of Nutella, peanut butter, and jam, all in the center of the table with a special juice. Everyone is in relaxed party mode until noon.

And we can tell ourselves that we marked the end of the year properly, with a festive heart. For them. And a little for us too.

Happy end of the school year everyone!
